An Egg Frog

-"Egg Frog", gesso and oil pastel on a recycled marble painting, 11.25" x 17".

I ran into many egg frogs on my walk through the woods yesterday. They hop through the piles of old leaves and mosses and are smaller than a quarter, so they are very hard to spot before you walk up to them. I was afraid of stepping on one because they would surely break under the pressure of a shoe. But this one stood still long enough for me to get his rough portrait down. (I think he was a little proud of his nice features).
